HomeVestors of America Inc., the company behind the "We Buy Ugly Houses" billboards and America's #1 Home Buyer, has named Atlanta the No. 2 market for real estate investing in 2007. HomeVestors, which has bought more than 30,000 homes in the U.S. over the last 11 years, based the findings on the number of houses bought in each market by the franchise network for 2007.

"It was an ugly year for residential real estate, creating record-setting demand for a trusted national home buyer," said John Hayes, president and CEO of HomeVestors. "We generated more than 200,000 opportunities for our franchisees to buy houses in 2007 and we expect even more opportunities next year. Despite changes in the market, real estate investing continues to grow."

Houston topped the list. Following Atlanta were Dallas; St. Louis; Phoenix; Fort Worth, Texas; San Antonio; Minneapolis; Chicago; and Milwaukee.

Dallas-based HomeVestors buys, rehabs and sells single-family homes through more than 260 franchises in 35 states.
